The Allahabad High Court has released the fourth and fifth editions of its “Historical Judgments in E-Booklet Form” series, featuring Hindi translations of the pre-Independence “Kanpur Bomb Blast Case” and the landmark “Raj Narain vs. Indira Nehru Gandhi” judgment, both regarded as historic rulings that upheld the supremacy of the rule of law.
The press release stated that more than 82,000 judgments of the High Court have so far been translated into Hindi and made available on its official website.
The two e-booklets were formally launched on May 20, 2026, by the High Court’s AI-Assisted Legal Translation Advisory, e-AHCR, and ILR Committee.
Earlier, e-booklets based on the “Chauri-Chaura Case,” “Keshav Singh Case,” and “Agra Conspiracy Case” had also been published.
According to the press release, the series will serve as valuable study material for legal researchers, advocates, judicial officers, and law students.
In the said press release, it was also observed that the objective of these e-booklets is to make judicial heritage accessible to the common public in simple Hindi and to democratize legal knowledge.
These e-booklets will remain available free of cost under the e-AHCR tab on the official website of the Allahabad High Court.
The AI-based translation project is being carried out by the Suvas Cell, Allahabad and Lucknow, under the patronage of Chief Justice Arun Bhansali.
Under the guidance of Committee Chairman Justice Ajit Kumar and members Justice Sameer Jain, Justice Vikram D. Chauhan, and Justice Vivek Kumar Singh, more than 82,000 High Court judgments and over 300 Supreme Court judgments relating to Uttar Pradesh have been translated into Hindi so far.
